What is Prayer Evangelism?

Prayer Evangelism is evangelism based on action and prayer. We need to begin in our neighborhoods, schools, and workplaces. It is about building relationships and being willing to pray for people. Bringing our neighbor's real needs before God and seeing God touch them, really opens the door for opportunities to pray with them and to share Christ.

Who can implement Prayer Evangelism?

  • A family praying for neighbors, friends, or family.
  • A teacher praying for students.
  • A student praying for classmates.
  • A postman praying for people on his or her route.
  • A businessperson praying for employers, employees, or co-workers.
  • An elected official praying over their constituency.

Why does this strategy work?

  • Prayer Evangelism creates a canopy of prayer changing the spiritual climate over a city.
  • Relationships are created in your neighborhood and workplace.
  • Identifying with your neighbors' felt needs and compassionately praying with them opens their hearts to the gospel.

Since the Transformation Weekend took place, we have had many people and congregations ask us what to we do now? First go to the page that says "How Can I Get Involved" and sign it. If you want to become a Command Two Congregation, send us information and we will contact to and will show you how to begin.

If you are a member of a congregation, go to your pastor and talk to him or her about Prayer Evangelism. Contact us and we will send information and or a ambassidor to speak to your church.

If you are a pastor, start today with activating prayer evangelism in your neighborhood. Get your family involved with you. Then get the other administrative staff started along with their families. If the head of each congregation is practicing prayer evangelism, the congregation will follow your leading. Need Help getting started? Let us know, we will be happy to get you started.

If you are a working person, look at your workplace as your mission field. Begin right away with speaking peace into your workplace. This is done in silence and does not draw attention from those you work with. Then pray that God will bless each person you work with. Ask God to open doors for you to fellowship with your co-workers. Start there.

Command Two would love to take the city map around to each congregation and see how many block or areas are being prayed over. Each city can get their own map and begin by looking at what God has already stirred up. Remember, the people who live around you or work around you are no accident. You have been put there for a reason. Pray for them. You are there to demonstrate Christ's love, to encourage and to pray for them. Ask God for a pure heart, so you build relationships that flow out of Christ love for the lost. The people you befriend are not targets they are people God created and whom Christ died for. Show mercy and be full of grace. God Bless you all. Now get started.
